Do you own a small business? Are you a manager that is in charge of the hiring at a larger business? It is absolutely necessary for you to do employee criminal background checks on each and every new hire and if you are not already doing it, then you need to start. Here is why.

For starters would you feel horrible if one of your star hires ended up being a criminal? Maybe you find out that they are the one that has been taking money from the company or maybe equipment and supplies. It could be worse, they could be the man that a group of criminals uses to get in and rob the entire place blind.

This would make you feel horrible and you could have avoided it with employee criminal background checks. Imagine going into your business one day to find out that everything has been stolen. This could be a reality if you hire the wrong person.

Second, now you need to know how to do these background checks so that you do not hire someone that is known for stealing if you are looking for someone to handle money. Sure every ex criminal deserves a second chance, but that does not mean you have to put someone that committed fraud into a position of responsibility or where they might be handling money.

The options you have are a bit limited for these checks, but there is one that is very good. Your first option is to do the check for free, but this is incredibly time consuming. You will be up all night for weeks going through all the 50 states public records to find out all the information you need to know.

Your second option is to use a Private Investigator. This will be very accurate, but also very expensive. Now if you want to know more than just what a persons criminal history is, then they can get that for you and it might not be a bad idea.

The absolute best and only option you should consider for employee criminal background checks is an online database set up just for this reason. This will give you an accurate report that covers all 50 states and it is quick. Plus you can pay a one time a year or month fee to get unlimited searches or if you just need one, then you can just pay for one.

Are you interested in knowing whether your neighborhood is safe or not? Is it necessary that you do a criminal record background check before hiring a nanny, contractor, or any employees at home or at work? The answer is yes it is very important and this is because your family and your assets must be protected. There are quite a few different ways to get your check done.

This will help you ensure that your family is safe and free from harm. Plus it is the peace of mind that you need to make sure you can sleep at night. Here are just a few ways to do criminal background checks.

1. Free Searches for Records

There are ways to get free criminal records checks done if you don’t want to spend any money. You will have to go through each individual state’s prison records and public records to get a full criminal background check for free. There are also public interest sites that will help if you might be dealing with a registered sex offender.

The only downfall here is it will take you quite some time to go through and search all these records. It can be very time consuming and you might not even find what you are really looking for. The accuracy is not always the best and this only works if you are willing to give up about a month to get it done.

2. Using the police department

There are some cities and counties that will do the check for you at the sheriffs office. This will cost you between $50 and $100 per check and you will need a social security number, name, and birth date to do the check.

It is also necessary that you et a signed form stating that the person allows you to do the background check. You will also have to share anything you find out with the person if they ask you to because it is the law. This can get quite pricey, especially if you need to check more than just one person.

3. Online for a small fee

If you want to save time and get your check rather quickly you can use one of the many online background check services. They will give you a full report and they are very affordable. They usually include monthly or yearly options for doing unlimited checks if you know you are going to need to do a lot of background checks.

There are a few of these out there, but only a couple that are worth your money. The good thing is you will have your background check rather quickly and it will only take you a few minutes to do the search. Now why would you not want to trade a small amount of money and a couple minutes of time to ensure your family and business is protected from criminals.

Did you know that there are numerous articles about free criminal history background checks? There are problems with these articles and with free background checks, though. You are not going to want to give up the amount of time it takes to perform a free check. Plus the accuracy is not always that great so the bargain you are getting is not so wonderful.

If your time is important, then this is probably not the way to go. There are options that won’t require you to give up a full month of your life. Here are better options that you can use to check the criminal history of someone.

The reason a free criminal history check takes so long is that you have to locate the public records for all 50 states and search them yourself. This is not as easy as just plugging in some information like on a search engine. Finding the public records databases is time consuming and searching them is even worse. So, yes, you can do a background check for free, if you have nothing better to do for the next two months.

However, you have other options that you can use to save you time. One of these options is on the pricey side of things and other is quite affordable. They are both faster and more accurate than a free check.

The first choice would be to go with a private investigator. They are known for getting good and accurate information about anybody. However, they do charge a nice large fee so if you are not looking to spend a few hundred dollars to get a criminal background check, then this is not your option.

You can find out a lot with a private investigator and they will do what you need them to in order to get the information you need. Plus if you want to know more than just the criminal history this is the way to go. A private investigator can find out just about anything you want to know.

The most recommended option, however, will not cost you nearly as much. This would be to use an online criminal history background check database. This is the type of system that can give you exactly what you are looking for. You will need the name, birth date, and social security number of the person. If I were you I would make sure to check each and every one of your new hires.

Since this is inexpensive and will help to protect your and your company it should always be done. I would make sure to get a criminal history check on anybody I hired for my business or for working around my home. It is ultimately your choice, but if you choose not to you might lose some money or someone could be harmed.

Background Checks are typically conducted discreetly. By that token, it is sneaky to some degree. How people view the use of background checks to obtain information about someone is a rather individual thing and can vary quite a bit from one person to another. However, there is no denying that this practice is on the uptrend both in business and private.

There are various instances under which background checking has become a standard procedure and effectively accepted as a part of life. Employers, credit officers, landlords, lawyers, business partners and even prospective in-laws are always going to be running people’s background checks. What employers typically look for is to verify the qualifications, experience and licenses of the incumbent as stated in the CV or job interview, Negligent Hiring being the big issue that it has become in human resource operation. Credit or loan officers would be interested to get some idea of the applicant’s payment behavior from his background history. Landlords look out for criminal records so as not to place their property in the hands of bad hats. Lawyers often refer to background checks for information, or ammunition rather, to smear their opponents. Business partners use background checks to determine if they are falling to cheats or crooks. In social or private context, background checks are a protective measure from getting mixed up with potentially bad elements.

The most common purpose of the background check has to be employment background checks, or more specifically pre employment background checks. In most cases, it is basically a matter of cross-checking the information submitted or gathered through write-in applications, job interviews and meetings.

It is also a good idea to conduct a self background check on yourself periodically. By doing this, we can achieve a few things. Firstly, we keep tabs of how we stack up in terms of records. Secondly, we make sure that the records are accurate and that we are not shortchanged. Last but not least, we guard against identity theft.

Anyway, except for special or very private information, everybody’s records are out there. Whether you personally subscribe to the practice of background checking or not, it will continue to propagate.

Public Communication has enjoyed a big boost with the advent of the Internet and Public Arrest Reports is one of the biggest beneficiaries. Through this medium, they are now reaching more people more efficiently with more effect. The main objective of posting these periodical reports publicly is to keep people informed of arrests made by the authorities. In a way, those who might be having ulterior ideas are also warned.

An Arrest Report is a record by law enforcement authorities of apprehensions that lead to detention or confinement. It constitutes a list of all arrestees with their personal details plus other information surrounding the incidents together with the ensuing charges if any. Individually, they form part of the Free Public Arrest Records of the offender.

Free Arrest Reports are commonly referred to as Public Police Reports as they are predominantly generated by the Police. Having that said, there are other enforcement authorities that are also in the capacity to do so. Although there may be variations from one state to another, it is also a general practice that Public Arrest Records are befittingly taken charge of by the Police.

By procedures, Arrest Records are prepared shortly after an arrest is made to record the incident in official document. It is then submitted to an assigned Case Intake official, who is usually the assigned Prosecutor for subsequent action. The report would detail all the facts pertaining to the arrest. In general, they present the personal particulars and bio-data of the arrestee, the time and place of occurrence, case number and type, witness information, surrounding factors like weather conditions, crowd, noise and so forth.

Free Arrest Reports are posted on various media by many Police Departments and Sheriff Offices for public viewing and attention. Weekly update is the norm but there is no fixed schedule, with some as frequent as live and some at monthly intervals. Cumulative lists over the years are also commonly available. Such reports are usually of a collective nature listing all arrests conducted over a certain period within a particular locality. Expunged records and those of arrestees below a certain age are usually omitted.

The primary purpose of Public Arrest Record is to document those incidents on record. Being effectively an official statement, it is also often used as evidence or substantiation to make charging decision by the Prosecutor or Grand Jury. Although it is well known that Public Arrest Reports are almost always one-sided, it will still have a strong bearing upon the Prosecutor in his willingness to plea bargain, trial tactics and case approach.

Public Arrest Records are considered as a public service. They can thus be requested from government agencies tasked with the function as long as procedures are followed. An alternative and preferred way to retrieve them is by purchasing them from commercial information providers. On top of government sources, they also tap into private and proprietary information networks, often coming up with extras but fees are charged.
