my car recommends 87 octane which i use! if i use 89 or 93 octane should i expect any difference in anything? cause some of my friends say yes some say no! even ask my auto teachers and i get the same answers! thanks for replying in advance!

As a general rule, is there any advantage to using a higher grade octane for a vehicle that recommends only regular or 87 octane. Such as better MPG or increased performance in any way.
