I think it is rediculous how a law that can help save peoples lives can be rejected, but you know that if something like this would have happened to one of “them” they would have a new law passed in the blink of an eye. PASS KELLIS LAW!!!!!! It should be a cold day in hell the next time a murderer gets to walk free!!!!!!!! Jessica Eagle (pitabug). NC

There is always one question asked! How many more families have to die from drinking & driving? I also, have a question what answer will you give the next family,in the next 15min.? In my opinion I think we shouuld allow Kelli’s Law to be the answer!I’m not here to judge anyone!I just pray that in the next 15 min. they do not have to that next family! The next Kelli Laine, the next Mom named Pam, family & friends!and ask Why? How? What could we have done? Answer: Kelli’s Law!Thank u,Melanie W.

Please Please pass Kelli’s law- before another innocent life is lost- if every lawmaker would respond as if it were their family member lost- it would pass!!!!

There should be classes on drunk driving so people could learn to be better at it.

Tonya, wonderful job!
Sullivan was a wonderful child who loved his little brother Spencer and loved to sing. He has his dad’s beautiful eyes and his mom’s smile. He will live in our hearts forever…aunt Trish

k, well chimneyqueen, something tells me that if it’s your child, you will feel much differently. we will stop the “MADDness” when drunk drivers stop the INSANITY. i’m sure there was more to it than just your keys being in the ignition. be honest.

This stirs up peoples emotions just like “The Passion.” Next thing you know laws reach a draconian level and exist to serve no one but the legal system and special interest groups like MADD. Proof? Several years ago my brother and I both received DUIs. Neither of us were in our cars, but the keys were in the ignition. Thousands of people busted for “drunk driving” under the same law. Finally someone took the matter to the state supreme court, and the law was abolished. Stop the MADDness.

Governor Sanford,
Oddly, this is the first I’ve heard about the deaths by DUI here in South Carolina. It seems I’ve been too focused on the other issues that South Carolina seems to be the worst at.
Where is your outrage? You post a compelling video yet I, a resident of South Carolina, don’t even know that you are pushing for harsher DUI laws. You and your supporters should be marching the streets, appealing to the people of South Carolina.
How do you plan to fix this problem?

January 22nd, 2009 at 3:38 pm

Pass Kelli’s law. Seriously, why is this even tolerated? Innocent people are being killed and the government is doing nothing about it. This is something that CAN be prevented.
January 22nd, 2009 at 3:38 pm
It is absolutely insane that the US senate would block such a critical measure to save innocent lives. This is completely unacceptable & unethical! PASS KELLI’S LAW IMMEDIATELY!
January 22nd, 2009 at 3:38 pm
Please pass Kelli’s Law. How many more people have to die by the hands of a drunk driver? If it were your family member killed or harmed wouldn’t you want stricter laws and stricter sentences then? Our loved ones count just as much as any Politician’s loved ones or any “Famous” person’s loved ones. Stop the injustice!!!
January 22nd, 2009 at 3:38 pm
